We're a church, not a data company. This page explains in plain language what information we collect, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
Contact information. When you fill out a connection card, check in at one of our kiosks, use the Crosswalk Pocket app, or give your details to a staff member or volunteer, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, birthday, and household/family information.
Kids check-in. When you check a child in to a kids program, we record the child's name, grade or age, the parent or guardian checking them in, any allergy or care notes you provide, and the date and time of check-in and check-out. This is used for the safety of the children in our care.
Attendance and involvement. We keep records of attendance, events you register for, groups or teams you join, and milestones you share with us (such as baptisms or anniversaries).
Photos. We take photos at church events. Photos of children are only used with a parent or guardian's permission. If you'd rather not appear in photos, tell a staff member and we'll honor that.
Security cameras. Our building has security cameras in public and entry areas. Footage is used only for the safety and security of people and property and is automatically deleted on a short rolling basis unless it's needed to investigate a specific incident.
Giving. Online giving is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not see or store your full card or bank account numbers.
How we use it
To stay in touch with you about services, events, and ministries
To care for you and your family (pastoral follow-up, prayer requests, milestones)
To keep children safe during kids programs
To manage volunteers, groups, and events
To keep our records accurate
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number, you agree that we may send you text messages about church services, events, reminders, and kids ministry notifications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts.
Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [phone] or cwpdx@crosswalkvillage.com.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your consent to receive texts is not shared with anyone else.
Who we share it with
We use a few trusted services to run the church, and they store data on our behalf:
Planning Center — our church management system (people, check-ins, groups, giving)
Apple iCloud — powers our check-in kiosks, coffee ordering system and the Crosswalk Pocket app
Twilio — delivers our text messages
eAdventist — the membership records system of the Oregon Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, for formal church membership records
These providers may only use your information to provide their service to us. We don't share your information with anyone else except when required by law, or to protect the safety of a person.
Your choices
See or correct your information: ask any staff member, or email cwpdx@crosswalkvillage.com. You can also update most of your own details in the Crosswalk Pocket app.
Stop texts or emails: reply STOP to any text, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Delete your information: email cwpdx@crosswalkvillage.com and we'll remove your personal information from our systems. We may keep a minimal anonymized record (for example, that a check-in happened on a date) for safety and reporting purposes, but it will no longer be connected to your name.
Children
Information about children is collected only from a parent or guardian, and only for the purpose of kids ministry and safety. Parents and guardians can view, correct, or ask us to delete their child's information at any time.
Security
We limit access to personal information to staff and volunteers who need it for their role, and our systems require a login to access it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
